Konigsee, Berchtesgaden: Beautiful Bavarian Lake

Not many know that Bavaria (South Germany), which is close to Switzerland, is as natural and colourful paradise. Its beautiful lakes, snow caped ranges, landscapes, wooden houses look very picturesque and imaginary.

Recently, we planned a weekend trip to Germany's deepest lakes, the Konigsee. With a Bayern ticket we travelled from Munich to Berchtesgaden. From there, a bus takes to Konigsee.

Konigsee is camouflaged in the Alps. Its pure, its green and very cold. Travellers can take a ferry ride in these electric boats.

These boats are Photon operated and can board about 30 - 40. The boats are made of wood and the seat cushions are designed as life boats.

The water is very clean and people too maintain it. The boats designed for ferries are pollution free. They are even sound free and do not disturb the animals of Berchtesgaden National Park.

Tourists need not carry food as there are good number of restaurants that serve Italian and German cuisine.

Best Part Of The Trip:
Our boats men played the trumpet when we were at the centre of Konigsee and I remember the echos of every note from the hills.

Our guide also told us more about the lake, the hills and the Eagle's Nest.

As we went further, we could view a beautiful White monument with an attractive Red dome. Its called St. Bartholomew, the sacred Catholic cathedral.

We could get down at St. Bartholomew, to visit the Cathedral and click some pictures. You can also relish some Fish and Wine here.

Other Tourist Attractions: Eagle's Nest, Berchtesgaden National Park, Rope Way Ride, Trekking and Skiing.

Shopping: Your can shop the famous mineral salt lamps and jewellery here.

Do not miss to visit Konigsee if you plan a travel to Munich.
